Artistic swimming

Competitive artistic swimming is a discipline that combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics through choreographed routines performed to music. It requires strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, precision, and teamwork.

Athletes progressively develop their technical skills through the learning of figures, movements, lifts, acrobatics, and routines performed in solo, duet, team, or acrobatic events. Training also focuses on developing physical conditioning, artistic expression, musicality, and the qualities required for competitive performance.

Swimmers participate in competitions according to their age category and skill level, as part of the athlete development pathway of Artistic Swimming Quebec and Artistic Swimming Canada. Guided by qualified coaches, they train in a stimulating environment that encourages personal growth, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence.
